Introduction to our school
Brotherton and Byram Community Primary School is a new school, completed in 2002 at the heart of Brotherton village. We are a primary school maintained and controlled by North Yorkshire County Council, admitting children from 3 + to 11 years.
We have 7 classrooms, and a Foundation Unit that comprises of two classrooms with adjoining doors. These allow us to have 6 year groups, and a foundation unit which accepts children from their third birthday until they enter the main school. We have a spacious well equipped hall, large library areas, and extensive grounds which include good sized playing fields, a 'wild area' and a pupils' garden area.
We undertake a wide range of sporting and extra curricular activities, and have active community involvement with the school through Friends of Brotherton and Byram School (FOBBS).
All our classrooms are computer networked, in addition to a computer suite in the Activities room for whole class computer work. To aid teaching, each classroom has an Interactive Smart board and projector.
Parents and prospective parents are welcome to visit our school. A telephone call before hand, however, will ensure that there is plenty of opportunity to discuss and look over the school.
