Activities

Junior Road Safety Officers

On Wednesday Olivia Flanagan and Oliver Tait, the Junior Road Safety Officers, went to Drax Power Station for a safety day. This is their report:

"In the morning a man called Steve, who is the fire preventer at Drax, showed us how to put mini fires out and taught us about fires. If you can start a fire, you can also put it out. Also we got our pictures taken with the Seatbelt Sheriff.

In the afternoon we went to the boiler house. We had to wear protective gear such as glasses, a reflective jacket and a helmet. When we went near the chimneys the ground vibrated and it was so loud that we had to wear special ear pieces so we could hear him talk!"

Swimming

Congratulations to the following pupils for gaining their Rotation and Orientation certificates!

Coby Glew, Alivia Turner, Megan Stockill, Amy McLachlan, Adam Shaw, Lewis Edwards and Charlie Skelding.

We are Writers!

The deadline for orders and payment for the ‘We are Writers!’ books is Thursday 25th November. A copy is available in school for you to have a look at. It’s a great book and would make an ideal Christmas present for family and friends!
